02/27/2013

On the 21st of February in Minsk, Belarus the Maksim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University (BSPU) held a press conference to announce the first results of a joint educational project with Prestigio.

The experimental educational project named "Education 2.0" was launched in September 2012. For the project one group of students were given Prestigio MultiPad 9.7 Ultra for Android 4.0 tablet PCs, which had to replace their textbooks, notes, and even a library.

After 6 months of studies the experimental group was compared with the other groups on the course and it was found that in all disciplines, students of the experimental group achieved higher grades than the average score. Traditional groups had a total average score in the first semester of between 5.75-5.98 points, while in the experimental group it was 6.15.

Prestigio Marketing Director Irina Savina said that the ideal device for studying does not exist yet. There are projects of other manufacturers to introduce devices into the academic process for reading electronic books. "Reader" is the most comfortable for reading texts, but they do not support multimedia and graphics, which are a necessary part of modern education.

"The purpose of our experiment is to get a complete picture of the needs and requirements of all the participants, students and teachers, to take into account all the nuances and offer Belarus an electronic device that will best combine the requirements for the process of education. Of course, we will continue our cooperation with the Belarusian State Pedagogical University "- commented Irina during the press conference.

Prestigio plans to continue to conduct regular educational projects of social importance.
