Valentino Sofokleous, presenting Cyprus Rowing federation, is showing great promises to achieve best results and classify to next Olympic Games. 24 years old, he already came 15th in the world rank list in the Single sculls.

As a young company, we are always ready and open to sponsor athletes who achieve good results in trainings and competition. Following his achievements we were 100% sure, we would like to support Valentino, and give him opportunity trough our Prestigio brand, to improve his results”, said Yuri Antoshkin, Chief Operation Officer for Prestigio Technologies ltd.

Valentino Sofokleous starts with rowing in 1999 and won his first award in 2002 – Bronze Medal in International regatta of Gent only on 16 years. After a bunch of gold medals in international regattas (single and double scull) he got No 15 in the world in the Single Scull.

Up to now he is doing his trainings in Greece with The Greak National team, and if he is in Cyprus, he is training in Limassol Nautical Club with his first coach Yiannis Charalambous (ex-national rowing trainer). The training program is more than exhausting as Valentino want to qualify for the Olympic Games – he has only two afternoons off of trainings.

I see Valentino as a natural talent. For succeeding in a competition, the athlete must learn to discipline and tolerance first, and get into the sport’s techniques. He is ambitious and he is working hard, so I am sure with his talent, there won’t be any limits in success”, states his trainer.

Valentino Sofokleous was born in Limassol in 1984. He has two brothers and one sister. In his free time (if he has), he likes surfing in Internet, chatting with friends or listening Xatziyannis’ songs. Graduated in Latino B School, now he is combining trainings and studies in UK.
