Prestigio Released the New Generation of MultiPads – MultiPad 2

Prestigio MultiPad 2, a new generation of MultiPads that offers more functionality, was presented by Prestigio in a nice set of two 8.0-inch tablets with IPS displays – one with 3G and another one with Wi-Fi only, coming in the new color options – classic black with black aluminum back or glamorous white with silver aluminum back.

Multipad 2 Ultra Duo 8.0 3G has Dual Core processor MTK8377 ARM Cortex A9 with clock rate of 1.2GHz and Dual Core PowerVR SGX531 graphics with speed of 1.2GHz. The Wi-Fi version, MultiPad 2 Ultra Duo 8.0, has also Dual Core processor but with different chipset and speed – RK3066 ARM Cortex A9 1.6GHz, and a graphic card with 4 cores - Mali 400 MP 400MHz. Both tablets have 1GB of RAM and a battery capacity of 4600mAh.

The OS is different as well, MultiPad 2 Ultra Duo 8.0 3G runs Android 4.0, whereas MultiPad 2 Ultra Duo 8.0 has a newer version – Android 4.1. Like all Prestigio tablets, they are preinstalled already with all the necessary applications for out of the box experience, including its own eReader Prestigio that offers more than 620,000 eBooks, among which 30,000 are free, in 22 languages. In addition, more than 700,000 apps to choose from and download are available on Google Play.

Both tablets feature two cameras – front VGA camera for video calls and rear camera of 2.0MP for taking pictures.

MultiPad 2 has the internal storage capacity of 8GB that can be expanded up to additional 32GB with micro SDHC/ micro SD card and another 5GB of cloud storage with preinstalled SugarSync application. This is more than enough to store all media library including movies, music, photos, eBooks and data files with no shortage of space. Prestigio MultiPad 2 Ultra Duo 8.0 3G offers a wide range of connectivity options: mobile internet anywhere anytime with 3G, Bluetooth for fast data exchange, phone calls and messaging. It also features built-in GPS receiver and FM-radio, making it a perfect companion on the road as well. In contrast, Prestigio MultiPad 2 Ultra Duo 8.0 has high speed Wi-Fi and supports 3G dongle which can be acquired separately. Both tablets have OTG support, so external devices such as mouse, keyboard or USB memory stick can be connected for convenient usage.

A nice addition to a massive specs list is a magnetic pouch that wakes and sleeps the tablet automatically when sliding it in & out of the pouch.
